Returning to University at 52
A factual note on choosing full-time tea science study after a long career in technology communication.
After more than two decades in technology communication, I began preparing for a graduate entrance examination in tea science at 52.
The decision was connected to three realities: changes in my previous industry, my family’s experience with tea farming in Guizhou and a desire to build a new field of useful work.
Starting as a newcomer
I entered full-time graduate study in 2024. My previous education and work experience are useful, but they do not remove the need to learn tea science from the beginning.
The next chapter is not a claim of expertise. It is a commitment to study, field practice and responsible connection.
