What Can Sensors Observe During Tea Processing?
An introductory note on VOC signals, environmental parameters and visual process records.
Tea processors use sight, touch and smell to understand changes in the leaf. Sensors do not reproduce that human expertise, but they may help record parts of the process.
Multiple forms of observation
A field data collection system may include temperature and humidity readings, aroma-related sensor signals and images of leaf condition. Time alignment allows these records to be reviewed together.
A research tool, not a shortcut
The purpose is not to declare that a number can replace a tea maker. The useful question is whether structured records can support comparison, teaching and future process understanding.
